Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

Your private Kenya safari begins with a morning pick-up in Nairobi at 7:00 AM. Drive north through changing landscapes into the semi-arid beauty of Samburu.

Arrive in time for lunch at Samburu Intrepids, followed by your first afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Expect sightings of elephants, lions, leopards, and unique northern species. Back to the lodge in the evening.

Day 2: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in this dramatic landscape north of the equator.

Samburu is famous for the “Special Five”:

• Somali ostrich

The reserve’s rugged terrain and riverine forests create exceptional photography opportunities.

Day 4: Full Day at Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary and learn about conservation efforts protecting endangered species.

Day 5: Ol Pejeta – Aberdare National Park

Drive to the Aberdare highlands and check in at Aberdare Country Club before transferring to The Ark Lodge.
