Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable forest 

You are required to rise early to partake in breakfast before attending the briefing at the park office at 7:00 am. This session, conducted by the park guides, is designed to prepare you for your interaction with the primates, including guidance on what items to bring and appropriate behavior around gorillas. During this briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla group based on your overall fitness level, and porters can be hired to assist with any heavy luggage. Bwindi hosts several gorilla groups; however, your assignment will depend on your physical capabilities. Following the briefing, rangers will lead you into the forest in pursuit of these primates. The duration of gorilla trekking in Bwindi ranges from 2 to 6 hours depending on which group is assigned. Typically, this involves traversing dense vegetation, valleys, streams, and hills before locating a gorilla group. It is advisable to capture numerous photographs while adhering strictly to instructions provided by the park guides—avoid sudden movements that might startle the gorillas and remain composed throughout.
